Group Blog

 Hey bloggers, it's finally time to begin this new and exciting music video. Throughout this week I've been thinking and trying to see ahead what I'm going to do and who I would decide to work with. I'm working with 3 others who I believe will get work done and contribute to the team. The members of my team are not in my media studies period but are very reliable outside of the school and are usually free and able to communicate with the group. The members I have chosen are Nick Z., Joao N., and Constanza C. I am well acquainted with everyone in my group and I am confident in our ability to synergize. We have not assigned roles yet and we have not though out that far ahead into the project. However, as a group we have come up with a few ideas so far and have been working them out through a group chat on our cell phones. We first had to come up with a genre which took a relatively long time to get everyone on board and content with the genre we picked. We ranged from sad songs to hip hop songs and R&B all debating our points and trying to pick a genre. We had a few songs in mind but the songs that ended up being the finalists were 7 years old, and How to Save a Life. We spent a good amount of time on a face time call planning ideas for our music video. The group had an idea about a boy growing up with his dog and the dog becomes ill. We had planned to have a message in the song that was pretty cliche like time is treasure, and don't take your loved ones for granted. This message fit pretty well with both of these songs and we had a really hard time choosing between them as they were both classics and seemed fun to work with. In the end after grueling arguments we finally agreed to using 7 Years Old by Lukas Graham. We also planned out some props and actors to use ahead in our production like a bald cap and an old person's wig. We also planned on using Constanza's dog and using props like tennis balls and toys. We planned on filming in different places like dog parks and condominiums and other open areas outside of school. That will be all thanks for reading bloggers and hope you have a fantastic day!

Production Blog: Filming for my Music Video

 Hey bloggers as you may already know I've been getting equipment ready to begin filming for my music video. Finally, as a group we have started filming and as of today we only have one day of filming left before we are finished and have the clips necessary to begin editing. We filmed at Constanza's house using various actors, props and costumes to get the video to look as natural as possible. I sed a white button up shirt and dress pants to make myself look more mature. This is because in our music video I have to play the role of the father of the girl. At first we spent a few minutes at first figuring out how to get Constanza's dog to cooperate with the camera to closely match the story board. Movie Research: The Boogeyman

 For the past week the group has been researching various thriller movies, the movie we're researching at the moment is the Boogeyman. The boogeyman was a very traditional and recent thriller movie using various conventions to thoroughly spook audiences and keep them drawn in. The boogey man utilizes loads of close-up shots on the actors faces to emphasize their acting and draws out fear and suspense in the audience. The boogeyman also uses phenomenal music which had me hiding under the covers. The music was sharp and intense, but also immensely ominous. Lastly the boogeyman used various costumes and props to immerse the audience. The conventions of this movie that I enjoyed was the intricate use of music, settings and camera angles. The music in this movie captivated the essence of horror and left me terrified while I was watching and made the movie tremendously interesting to watch. Our Pitch

These are our pitches we came up with for our opening sequence  Pitch A: A group of students plan out an innocent camping trip and begin to find out that there is something out there, something watching them the entire time. Pitch B: A family hires a personal chef, the chef sneakily steals items from their house covering his tracks no matter the cost. Pitch A seemed a little cliche to us at first but it was a very feasible idea that could still be loads of fun and really well produced. We found that it would be simpler to use effective music in a thriller as there are loads more films and media work using suspenseful music. We also had a slight plan as to where we would film the sequence, Oleta State Park. We also had the camping equipment necessary for the props and costumes allowing our budgets to be put towards other things.
