Production Blog: Finalizing Filming for my Music Video

Image
Hey bloggers welcome back, and today I have some very exciting news involving my latest project. As you all might know for the past month I've been working on a music video with groupmates from my school. This week we finally have finished one of the main components of this project. We finished the filming portion of the music video. Over the last few days we were splitting up our filming to finally complete it, but it was no walk in the park for us. The group faced various challenges to get together and start filming, the first issue we ran into was completely out of our control. The weather was our first issue we ran into various problems regarding heavy storms, extreme winds and extreme heat. Our next issue as a group to tackle filming was our schedules. All of our schedules did not align and we had an incredibly hard time setting a day and place to film especially with the weather. Our schedules were a huge problem as each of us do some sort of extracurricular that creates les

Production Blog: Beginning editing for my Music Video

Hey bloggers as you may know I've been working on my music video along side all of my groupmates. As a group we decided to split apart during the editing phase and we would all use our own methods. In the end we plan on coming together as a group and selecting the best music video production. In terms of what I'm doing, I plan on using Cap Cut again with my mastery from the previous project and try to create a high-quality production. I've been considering the Cap Cut membership to get access to all of the premium features and transitions to enhance the quality of my work. I ran into issues almost immediately into starting my editing. When Constanza was sending me the clips we had previously recorded they would corrupt or have horrific quality. We tried various methods, we tried emailing, texting and nothing seemed to work at all. But finally we got it to work by embedding it onto a shared word document and it appeared to be perfectly fine. The only problem I had after thi

Hey bloggers as you may already know I've been getting equipment ready to begin filming for my music video. Finally, as a group we have started filming and as of today we only have one day of filming left before we are finished and have the clips necessary to begin editing. We filmed at Constanza's house using various actors, props and costumes to get the video to look as natural as possible. I sed a white button up shirt and dress pants to make myself look more mature. This is because in our music video I have to play the role of the father of the girl. At first we spent a few minutes at first figuring out how to get Constanza's dog to cooperate with the camera to closely match the story board. The dog was very energetic and it took us about 4 or 5 different takes to finally solve the issue. We filmed near a lake and I walked down the neighborhood with the dog and my "daughter". Our next scene involved one of my group mates nick and he was dressed casually and w

Production Blog: Shopping for equipment

Image
Hey bloggers as you know I've been getting started on working on my Music Video. I watched a few YouTube videos and continued studying terminology used in the film world. Iwas doing this as I wanted to look into purchasing a few items and equipment to make sure I wouldn't something that didn't apply to what I needed. I was looking for highly rated but budget lighting equipment under the $100 price tag. One of the best items I found was a set of a tripod, and a ring light going for 29.99 and 4.5 stars with 60,000 reviews. The only problem in my mind was whether or not the filming we were doing would require a tripod or a stand or if it was better to use a camera man. I was also looking for lenses that would fit onto either of our cameras in the group. I was in between 4 lenses of below $40 and did extensive google searching and meticulous analyzation of reviews to eliminate 2 more lenses. It was now down to a Xenvo Lens with 4 stars and 50 thousand reviews with a macro lens

Production Blog: Foundations for my Music Video

Image
Hi bloggers today marks the start of production for a very exciting music video. I decided to do some more research on my own on music videos in similar genres as our song. I tried looking at these videos and looking at their editing primarily, I was looking at songs like 'How to Save a Life' by the Fray. I struggled finding helpful inspiration watching these videos and I suffered a creative block in my mind. Despite having everything planned in terms of story boarding and ideas as a group we have not come together about the editing software's and programs we would be using. This I plan to resolve relatively soon but in the mean time I've been learning how to download YouTube videos onto software's like Cap Cut. I have also been studying on YouTube finding random videos and jotting down what conventions they use throughout the videos and how thy express emotion through these conventions. I've also been looking at how acting influences the moods of the audiences
