Production Blog: Finishing Filming for our Opening Sequence
Hey bloggers and welcome back today we have various things to discuss and look forward to. Just recently we completed the filming for our opening sequence and as of right now I think it looks of high quality. This second filming session was far more challenging compared to the first as we had to make use of weather and time throughout our filming process. Making use of storm clouds and wind was challenging as we had to wait for the weather to be right. Its also very hard to film during these conditions without it looking weird and distorted. As a group we also had to change settings various times and even had to film on the road. I worked towards making sure all of the filming was as safe as possible but also as smooth as possible. Working at night in the woods, we all had a safe word to make sure we were comfortable with the filming. We also made sure to stay within at least 100 meters away from each other in order to not get lost. The camera man would also wear a bright orange traffic control vest so if we did get lost we could easily find the camera and group back there. I also purchased flashlight for the entire group to use so that in between scenes we would not trip or fall over the foliage in the woods. I also took precautions identifying plants around our film site to avoid any poisonous plants like poison ivy which is quite common where I live. I also bought plastic casing for the camera and all of our phones. This was to prevent water damage from corrupting our footage and damaging our own electronic devices. In terms of filming acting in the dark was much easier as I was actually scared and unaware of my surroundings. The acting looked much more natural but it made the filming more stressful. This took a slight mental toll on me and the rest of us and we kind of rushed the filming process due to this. The previous filming session we had several retakes but with this session we tried only filming scenes 2-3 times at the very most. I'm still very proud of what we filmed and I believe it is far better than our music video. Thanks for reading bloggers and hope you have a fantastic day.
