Production Blog: Foundations for my Music Video
Hi bloggers today marks the start of production for a very exciting music video. I decided to do some more research on my own on music videos in similar genres as our song. I tried looking at these videos and looking at their editing primarily, I was looking at songs like 'How to Save a Life' by the Fray. I struggled finding helpful inspiration watching these videos and I suffered a creative block in my mind. Despite having everything planned in terms of story boarding and ideas as a group we have not come together about the editing software's and programs we would be using. This I plan to resolve relatively soon but in the mean time I've been learning how to download YouTube videos onto software's like Cap Cut. I have also been studying on YouTube finding random videos and jotting down what conventions they use throughout the videos and how thy express emotion through these conventions. I've also been looking at how acting influences the moods of the audiences watching and how directors set up prop sets and plan out a scene before recording it. In the group I've also been looking at which of us in the group has the best camera possible to record in a higher quality. I've also been checking the cameras to see if they have the ability to adjust lighting, saturation, vignette, opacity, and hue. This would allow us extra customization during the video to create different lightings without actually having to adjust or buy different lights. I also have tried to address some of the issues I faced during my previous project which was poor video and audio quality while uploading onto YouTube. As a member of the group I also have been looking for which days our schedules align. This is so we can maximize our efficiency in recording and spend more time editing and touching up on our video. Another thing I have been doing is going to Halloween stores like Spirit and Party City to look for cheap props and items we could use for our video. I was looking into old men glasses and medical equipment. I planned on using this to show the dog was sick and that Constanza was growing up with the dog. I was also looking up some adorable dog outfits to use during the video. This would add more emotion and make the video have higher emotional range. Well that's all bloggers thank you for reading and hope you have a splendid day!
